Ambra came into our care in December 2024.
Dogs like Ambra is why we rescue: this poor boy is the sweetest, most soft-natured dog, and all he wants is to feel safe and loved, but here in Turkey he was unwanted and was left to fend for himself.. All alone with no-one to take care of him, Ambra became very unwell. He was malnourished and was suffering from anemia caused by active Ehrlichia. He wouldn't have been able to survive for much longer by himself.. All he needed was a very simple treatment and someone who cared.. Thankfully we found him in time, and he was so grateful to finally be safe!​
Ambra made a full recovery and settled in wonderfully in the Melez enclosure.

Ambra is a true gentleman with a soft, easy-going nature. He has a medium energy level, and loves playing with the other dogs in the enclosure, but is calm and gentle in his interactions with people. With his sweet, social character, he is friends with everyone, and he is a much-loved part of the Melez pack. He gets along very well with other dogs and is friendly towards every dog he meets. He also gets along with cats.

 

Ambra has an adventurous side, and he loves going for long walks and exploring new places. He walks well on the lead and is confident when out for walks, but he does have a stubborn streak and will sometimes refuse to move until he gets to go in the direction he wants to go in. He enjoys car rides and jumps into the car by himself.

Although he is generally a very easy-going dog, Ambra does have a nervous side. He often cries in the enclosure when he wants something from us (usually when he wants to go out for a walk). When he first arrived, he also displayed some separation anxiety, and cried when left alone, but he is much calmer now.
Ambra is shy around men he doesn't know, and he may bark when he sees a man in the distance. If approached calmly by a man, Ambra will cautiously come to say hello. After a friendly introduction, he will happily ask for attention from the man. If he doesn't get the opportunity to have a calm introduction, he will try to avoid interaction.

Ambra would thrive in a calm home with a stable daily routine. He would be very happy to be able to go on lots of long walks with his family, and have a soft bed to come home to. Ambra is a sweet soul who really deserves the safety and comfort of a loving home..

Ambra is currently in Turkey and is ready to travel to the UK or the EU.

The dogs arrive in the Netherlands microchipped, up to date on their Rabies and Mixed vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and deflead and tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania and Anaplasma. The dogs visit the vets for a final health check before they travel. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-Rays are taken of any potential areas of concern. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated with you beforehand.
