❄ What makes Chaplin special: his gorgeous long locks, which are still growing back after he had to be fully shaved due to the state he was in when he was found on the streets.
Chaplin came into our care in the winter of 2024.
Chaplin most likely had a home before, but was abandoned on the streets to fend for himself.. He was starving, and his fur was completely matted. Luckily , he was found by animal lovers, who realised he wouldn't be able to survive all by himself. They took care of him until he was ready to move into our enclosure.
Having had a home before, Chaplin is struggling in the crowded Melez enclosure, and although he has made lots of friends now, he does fade into the background a bit.. We expect he will be a completely different dog once he is in a home!
Chaplin spent his first few weeks in the enclosure hiding, but he has made lots of progress and is starting to feel more and more comfortable. He fits in well in the pack and is friends with all the other dogs in his kennel. He is very playful and he spends all his time trying to get the other dogs to play with him! He can be a bit nervous when a new dog is introduced in his kennel, but he quickly becomes friends and it doesn't take long for him to start trying to convince the newbie to play with him. We think Chaplin would be very happy sharing his home with another social, playful dog.
In the enclosure, Chaplin is often so busy playing with other dogs that he doesn't even notice when we come into his kennel.. However, as he has started to feel more comfortable, he has started realising that getting cuddles is also fun! He now always comes to say hi and likes to be petted. Outside of the enclosure, he is much more interested in people and happily wags his tail when he gets attention.
Chaplin comes to life when he gets to leave his kennel and go out for walks. In his excitement, he pulls on the lead and his adopters will need to help teach him how to walk calmly on a lead. Chaplin is very confident when out and about and isn't scared by crowds or traffic. He is extremely well-behaved when taken to new places and easily lets you guide him. He never creates a fuss!
Although we don't get to see much of his personality in the enclosure, it's clear that Chaplin is such a good boy, whose life would be completely transformed if he was able to leave his kennel and live in a home! Could you offer Chaplin the happy life he so deserves?
Chaplin is currently in Turkey and is ready to travel to the EU or the UK
The dogs arrive in their homes microchipped, up to date on their Rabies and Mixed vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and deflead and tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania and Anaplasma. The dogs visit the vets for a final health check before they travel. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-Rays are taken of any potential areas of concern. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated with you beforehand.
