❄ What makes Suki special: Suki has enamel hypoplasia, a result of having had to fight Distemper as a puppy

Suki was one of our government shelter rescues after the 'Massacre Law' came into effect in the summer of 2024.

Suki had a home before, but was abandoned in the government shelter with her collar still on. There she waited and waited for someone to adopt her, but no-one did. When Turkey 's new law was introduced, the government shelter kept on getting fuller and fuller and her kennel kept on getting more and more overcrowded. We saw how desperate she was to be able to leave the shelter, and how much she craved a stable home and a forever family , so we couldn't leave her there.

Suki is a sweet girl with a cheerful character, who has lots of love to give!

Unfortunately, like many dogs that have been in the government shelter, Suki is scared of men. She will try to avoid interaction with men if she can. If she sees a man from afar, she may bark. She can get used to men if approached calmly though, and she has had some positive interactions with men in the enclosure, where she has happily cuddled with a male who gently approached her to introduce himself.

With women, Suki is one big ball of loving energy! She gets so excited when she sees people and runs straight up to get cuddles. She loves getting attention from both women she knows and strangers. She is also very friendly towards children.

Suki adores other dogs and playing with dogs is her absolute favourite thing to do. She spends most of her time in the enclosure happily running around with her friends and she can play for hours before getting tired. Suki would be very happy to be able to share her home with another dog.

Outside of the enclosure, Suki is used to walking on the lead, but she is quite nervous and is easily startled. In quiet areas, she is happy to walk around on the lead, but as soon as she hears a loud noise or sees men or traffic, she gets scared and tries to hide.

Suki is the sweetest, most joyful, most playful girl, but her insecurities are getting in the way of her living her life to the fullest. In a calm, stable home, with the guidance of a patient, loving family, we know she can overcome many of her fears and start to be the happy, carefree dog she so desperately wants to be!

Suki is currently in Turkey and is ready to travel to the EU/UK.

The dogs arrive in their homes microchipped, up to date on their Rabies and Mixed vaccinations, spayed/neutered, dewormed and deflead and tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Leishmania and Anaplasma. The dogs visit the vets for a final health check before they travel. If needed, their teeth are cleaned and X-Rays are taken of any potential areas of concern. Any concerns or potential health issues we are aware of will be communicated with you beforehand.
